Plugins

YORGOO blaster comes with just a few plugins which need to be installed and configured. Plugins are scripts which are run to increase the performance of the site, to make admin life more comfortable or to add features to the site.

The plugins used in YORGOO Blaster are:

Akismet to filter spam

All-in-One-SEO for onsite optimization

FeedWordpress to handle RSS Source Feeds

Adsense Inbox to handle Mail Source Feeds

 

1. Akismet

From your Dashboard select ‘Plugins’

You see the list of Plugins; they are all inactive for the time being.

Activate Akismet by clicking on the Activation link:

You now get this: Akismet is activated (green background) and a warning on top: Akismet is not active:

Click on the link as shown above:

Enter your API Key and Activate the automated spam handler by ticking the Checkbox.

From the WordPress Site: “When you sign up for a WordPress.com account we will email you an API key. If you already have a WordPress.com account, your API key is listed on your profile page, which you can get to by clicking the “My Account” link in the top right when you’re logged in.”

    Great Guideline again, thank you Yorgo!

    Some people really have problems finding the place where the API key is hidden;
    so it’s good to know right away that it’s being sent to you in an emai – but only
    after activation of the email address :)

    May be we should extend the tutorial to WP and show where exactly things can be found?

    I agree, it’s not easy to find customers’ stuff on that site.
