General Options deal with some basic settings of your site. The most important issue here are the Blog Title and the Tagline: make them your primary and secondary key-word.

  1. First of all: thank you for the Guideline that helps me compare the setup of my http://www.smartbidtips.net/new/ with what ‘should be’ :)

I notice that in the TAGLINE here we see “follow” – which is the folder with Walmart being the TITLE.
It’s also one of tons of Categories .

I have LOUIS VUITTON as title and “new” as folder – but as TAGLINE I put (secondary) keywords related to LOUIS VUITTON that I also use as Categories on the Blog.

Obviously, I ask myself: what is the value of putting “new” as TAGLINE versus “Bags, Sunglasses & News” which I currently have?

    Thank You, Gourou :(

PS: Sorry, I can’t help thinking when I do… so I understand the logic :(

PPS: That’s becaue I work on intuition and gotta dig out ma logc :(

  2. Thanks for this Question.
It depends what you are targeting really; if you go for Louis Vuitton and within the Louis Vuitton topic you will write about Handbags, Sunglasses and so on, then it makes sense to use those keywords as Tag line.

If on the other hand you target New Louis Vuitton Products as opposed to Used Louis Vuitton, then you would rather use New as Tag line, defining that you deal exclusively (or mainly) with New LV items.

You may notice on Amazon or also eBay that these sites distinguish between New and Used; these are before all internal distinctions. The real question is:

Will People search on Google distinguishing between New Louis Vuitton or Used Louis Vuitton …?

PS: The screen shots on this site are from a sample Site in a folder /follow with a Tag line Follow … a sample I said … or could it be more?…?

  3. Hang in there guys, I’m almost there
